“Advancement to Independence through Motivation”

The AIM Centre, founded in 1986, is a non-profit, protective workshop providing work activities, skills training and personal development to people living with disabilities.

MOTHER’S DAY

The AIM team would like to take this opportunity to wish all of the moms out there a Happy Mother’s Day for May 12th. There is nothing more special than a mother’s love, warm touch and encouraging words! We hope that you enjoy plenty of pampering, as well as endless hugs and kisses from those whom you love the most. You deserve it!

PARENTING WITH A DISABILITY

Parenting is challenging at the best of times, never mind when doing it with a disability! This is especially true when our children are very young and don’t quite understand their parents’ limitations. Fear not, though! With the support of friends and family, along with a positive attitude, it is indeed possible. Our latest blog provides some tips that we hope you will find helpful, particularly during those difficult times when you are feeling frustrated and defeated. You CAN do this!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

A quick reminder about the weekly jumble sale taking place at the AIM Centre every Friday. Please be sure to pop past and have a look at our items – there are usually many affordable treasures to discover. We also kindly request that you donate any unwanted items to us for this purpose, particularly any winter-warming essentials as the temperatures start to plummet. Jerseys, jackets, socks, long-sleeved tops… we are endlessly grateful for any and all donations that we receive from our loyal supporters and are very proud to be able to offer those less fortunate a chance to purchase these essentials at lower prices so that they too can keep their loved ones warm and cosy all winter through!

JOIN FRIENDS OF AIM

Do you want to get involved at the AIM Centre? Do a good deed? Make a donation? Then you may wish to consider joining Friends of AIM – our incredible network of supporters. Friends of AIM are those who regularly volunteer at the Centre, who often donate goods to our Charity Shop or who contribute to the Centre in some other meaningful way. Friends of AIM are always the first to know about any news or developments at the Centre and are very much appreciated and loved by our team and participants. You can join today by sending an email to marketing@aim4independence.co.za.
